FAQs

  • Consider therapy as a supplement to the other ways you’re already taking care of yourself and moving toward growth and change. People use therapy in different ways, either to address mental health issues, work through a stressful time in their lives, or discover themselves in a new way. The first few sessions are a chance to think about how you would like to use the therapeutic space which in turn, helps us figure out how I can help you.

  • Therapy sessions are typically 45 or 50 minutes.

  • I offer weekly therapy sessions.

  • The first session is called an intake. It’s a chance for us to get to know each other and for me to learn a little bit about different areas of your life and history. I prioritize helping you feel comfortable speaking with me for the first time and feel ready and safe to share more. I also encourage you to ask me questions about my approach and experience treating others.

  • Like any other relationship, our relationship should be marked by mutual respect, healthy communication, and trust. While we may not share the same experiences, I work to understand your perspective without any judgment. Most importantly, you should feel comfortable speaking with me and feel that I am actively listening, reflecting on your experiences with you, and honoring our time working together.

  • This can vary depending on what brings you to therapy. I make it a point to check with you and how you feel you are making progress toward your goals. We might decide to continue or re-evaluate our approach. Progress isn’t linear but I do help patients highlight moments of success that demonstrate that therapy is working.

  • I am out of network with most insurance plans but my office can submit insurance claims on your behalf at no additional cost, ensuring direct reimbursement to you.

  • If your plan has out-of-network benefits, your insurance company will start to reimburse you for all or part of the session cost after meeting a deductible. My office can help in verifying your coverage to give you a better sense of the cost of therapy before we schedule a first session. My office can also submit insurance claims on your behalf at no additional cost, ensuring direct reimbursement to you.

  • At this time, I am offering in-person sessions on Fridays and telehealth sessions throughout the week.

  • I am currently licensed in New York, New Jersey, and Washington DC. I can see patients who are located in these areas.

Let’s take that next step, together.

I like to schedule complimentary phone consultations to make sure we are a good fit and answer any questions you may have before starting therapy.
